Polyamide Line

Can't find any Nylon (stretchy) mooring line where I am in France.
They do have something called Polyamide. Is this the same? Google ought to be my friend but I'm not exactly current on my chemical compositions

I'm sure Google is friendly enough to tell you Nylon is a trade name for Polyamide.
