I have been looking at replacing an aluminium Wakeboard Rack on our boat which seems to have vibrated loose and cannot be retightened as the threads have damaged. Now I know I could re-cut the threads but I have been looking at replacements.
We have a highly polished stainless tower with mainly stainless fittings apart from the racks. However wakeboard racks seem to be aluminium and come in "polished" or "anodised" finish.
The polished ones are tempting as they would match into the tower, however the boat is used on the sea so I wonder how long they would stay polished or whether there is a good reason that anodised ones are available.
I think the ones I have are anodised, its it feasible to have the threads re-made and have them polished (removing the anodisation)
