Polish and wax then anti foul ???

Lightly sand pre-antifoul, if you intend to do so. Polish and wax topsides. Apply antifoul.

I think that makes sense...

Just out of interest:

How does masking tape adhere or not to a newly waxed topside.

We power wash the hull, acid wash to remove tannin, wash down the yacht (the power wash down of the hull makes a mess), then AF and finally, sometimes, wax and polish. We do not sand down the old AF and only use ablative paint. We AF when the AF is starting to wear through so build up is minimised.

Always polish then antifoul.

My only reason is all the run off from a gentle cutting and polish goes all over the antifoul and makes it look a mess. Of course I knowas soon as it goes back in the water it doesnt matter one bit!

i always change the colour of the antifoul - makes it much easier to make sure you have covered properly.

I think the decision is mainly aesthetic. I don't imagine that making a bit of a mess of the A/F would stop it working, but it might damage your pride a little. You could reasonably wash, then antifoul, then polish, I suppose, but the traditional way is what I think almost everyone does.
