Anyone any experience of these props. Hit the slip today like an idiot and knackered my Prop. I was wondering what Polarstorm are like as they look excellent value

I honestly think investing in a right decent quality prop is great thing for any boat. Lesser quality brands seem to hugely vary in terms of final quality, if not occasionally even vast inconsistency in terms of reliable pitch and general form/finish. Like having cheap tyres on your car, might be a comparison.
For what it’s worth to you big plumbs…having messed with far too many propping experiments, on far too many boats..spending far too much money than is sensible too…my thoughts are that there are a few things to rely on, when it comes to props.
Almost right across the range..merc oem props are consistently very good (outwith the silly vengeance prop). Even the black max standard ally 3 blade is a great and reliable thing. The best of them like the enertia, tempest, laser 2 (always know where you stand with a laser 2), rev 4 and fury etc etc…are way ahead of the game.
Also add that the Yamaha k series props are very very capable things too.
The VP DP and SP ally and stainless props also good things for their quite unique applications, if not rather over priced though.
Michigan marine offer a few good alternatives to the latter I’d say..along with an equally good version to suit the uniquely fitted bravo 2 application.
Basically. I’d avoid brands like the one mentioned in your post, along with things like solas too. Stick to the merc models for most general requirements I’d say…

All good but the Polarstorm will be here in 2 working days the OEM was 6 weeks and confusing concerning the centre As to whether you got it or not. As for car tyres I always buy medium to low and have never had any issues. I have never been one for reassuringly expensive. I also don’t believe much in the OEM thing based on years of experience.

over on Ribnet I have had more reply’s and generally the consensus on Polastorm is good. It should be here on Monday or Tuesday so will let people know my initial thoughts
