Anyway, who hasn't ballsed up during their learning curve? I certainly have but it was some moons ago, I'll see if I can dig out a picture

Agreed, nothing to do with starting out either.
Look what this plonker did, trying to go around the back of the moorings in the harbour rather than staying up at the entrance to make a sharper turn, like the normal people.
I was stuck for four tides while they went down and up over 2 days in 2005 by 4cm. Eventually pulled her off backwards using the kedge (where was that thread suggesting no one ever needs to put an anchor in the tender!) There is actually a mound of silt which is being forced off the gutter which is why I did not see it, my crew did, but by the time I realised what she was trying to tell me, thud. Trouble with a cat, you can't lean her over to get off, once yer stuck your stuck.
We did try moving everything up to the bow to get off the next tide, but it did not make enough difference to get the keels out of the mud.
What is funny, a few friends turned up the next day, tied up on the wall at the top end of the harbour. I draped towels over the boats name and kept my head down. A couple of weeks later we met in a sailing club further up the coast, and he shouted across the bar, "Did you mean to go aground in .....". Grrr.
Anyhow, thought it might also make a nice, where is it post...
