The daily walk round the land,Garden or Finca just to look think about the next job(stacking the logs) and then cementing a ramp into the woodshed, lots to muse about very much what I imagine I might be doing if I bought a boat.At least making tea of coffee looking in the bilge writing a list or adding to a list!On anon sailing day probably checking over the engine and giving ti a run.I am sure there will be something to fix but would hope not an important thing…..splicing a rope😂

All those ends need sailmakers’ whipping. That should keep you busy for a while.

We all have a defined capacity for work..,,we have injuries, incapacities as well as different work ethics.
A boat is a greedy mistress who demands a lot of your time and effort…if you are expected to also labour around the house plus the commuting to and from the boat….it can feel overwhelming…if not downright impossible.
But there is an upside…the more we work the greater our ability to work becomes…even if you are old you probably can still get, eventually, to the capacity for work that you had in your previous career.
And, and this is my favourite, the more the list of tasks on the boat grows….the more the wife will let you slide on your domestic chores.
