Hi everyone.

I want to poke a couple of m of 13mm hose to connect a new tap in the galley. Access is poor and dark, with a narrow hole at both ends. I am sure this is bread and butter to a plumber or electrician...or a tame snake.

Any tips on what tool to use? I have an endoscope but no other clever snakes or similar. Many thanks.

Depending how far , put some string in one hole a lot of it then get an old metal coathanger bend it straight then bend over on end and fish for the string.

I use one of those almost every day in my job. I liken it to threading a needle at arms length with your eyes shut. it is definitely an acquired skill and definitely easier with 2 people, one threading the fish wire in, and a second looking, or more likely listening to where it is and what it is bumping onto to guide the other where to aim it.

Assuming I have interpreted your task correctly.

If its as dark as you suggest then a torch at one end will indicate where you need to aim. The other, similar option, is to have an LED at one end of your hosepipe connected with a suitably long pieces of wire to a power source. - then view the light from one end and direct your opposite number on where to aim the light. Your wife can do this as women are able to multi task.

before you go spending your hard earned on fibreglass rods or LED lights ....Ive done it before using just a DIY steel tape measure just feed it in l and get somebody to catch the other end if necessary tie a string to the end poke it all through then undo the string and use it as a pull through
