Anybody know of a good (possibly free) tide program for the pocket PC.

I have used Bellfields tide plotter for the past 2 years, but feel that having to pay each year for its use is a bit of a cheek. Granted - its not expensive, but when I buy a product i want it to work... forever.

Forever???

Like a car or a washing machine??

Keith Belfiled earns a living by writing good software. It goes onto the Pocket PC a treat.

You can buy three years worth of tides for the whole of Europe.

Go on spend a tenner. Be rash!

I just had a quick look at the site, but it doesn't seem to run on Pocket PCs.
Are you sure it does?

Costs ??

Considering the cost of an almanac, tide book etc. Belfields is EXTREMELY good value for money ..... remember that he has to pay Royalties to UKHO and also his time to write the software ...... given the price I cannot believe that he makes much out of it ....

So if you want a free program - then you can try shareware search or google - I managed to get a freebie for the Palm, but still I like Belfield and others to ensure I have good info.

I regularly find differencies between Tide results .... sometimes up to 40mins ..... so depending on one is not so good. But taking each as a guide and NOT gospel, never take any tide data as gospel in fact .... you should only work approx. to it ....

X-tide does not run on Pocket PC or PDA .... but its derivative ... CE-tides does.

There is also another one - called Eur-tides ..... in fact if you do a google for pda navigation or tides .... there are a few that come up. My preference is Belfield though .... and for a tenner - I reckon is the best value marine item second only to the FREE Seaclear chart program ....

Go on have a Google !!
