Pocket-3000 VHF Radio ?

I have been given a VHF portable with the following markings: Marine Transceiver; Pocket 3000; Radio Ocean. I think it is made by Furuno but can not find any information on this particular model on the net. Does anyone know where I can get a user manual, preferably by download?

There is a battery charging socket on the side. I would like to know what type of battery it is (Ni Cad?) and the charging voltage and current, so I can recharge it.
