does anyone have any decent information on this specific boat, anyone out there with exactly the same boat? would love to see some pictures. I salvaged this about 10 years ago in Plymouth with my dad and have now begun work restoring her. Many thanks Norton.

Hello Norton, I am blown away by those pics. Almost 8 years after you started this discussion but I recognize the project that me and my wife started in 2007. I hope you will still receive this message. Would be great to get in contact and share pics. I have never seen another Pacemaker 19 before. We are proudly driving our boat since 2010. Greetings from the Netherlands. Cheers, Stephan

Hello Constantia,
I am in the process of purchasing a Pacemaker 19 and it would be great to get in touch with you!

Hi Jonathan756, sorry to but in but just read this thread and thought I’d get in touch as I owned a pacemaker 19 for many years but had to sell her in 2007 due to ill health. I found her in a field in Blakeney in Norfolk but she was in an awfull condition. I fell in love at first sight although my wife asked why I had bought home a load firewood that needed chopping up. 14 months later she was a wonderful sight to see and gave us a Holliday home for many years on the broads. She was named Snow Goose and a full photographic history of the rebuild is available if your interested. I also have a photocopy of the original sales leaflet. I would love to find her again but cannot seem to locate her current location.

My late step-father, David Simmonds of Port Hamble, designed and built the Pacemaker range. He and his mate did the first Cowes-Torquay race in one. Charles' book, a family friend, did the best history of Pacemakers.

I don’t know if I may have spoken to him back in 1998 but I certainly spoke to an old Forman who used to work at Hamble, a little before he died and he was the one who told me all about my boat, sent me the sales leaflet and gave really good advice on its rebuild. When I had finished her I sent him some photos and a letter but alas his wife wrote back telling me he had died In the intervening time. I shall never forget his kindness.

No, Dad was a Director and had been running Antigua Slipway for the last 30 years.

Hi, not sure how to do this, but I’m trying to reply! I’ve got a pacemaker 19 which I love. Would be great to chat with you

Hi Paul, thanks for the reply. Am very interested in exchanging stories about the 19s. Would much rather speak direct cos I’m not good with typing but I don’t think the forum likes us doing that. If it’s allowed we could meet if you like or even telephone, whatever is allowed and you prefer. I’m in north Norfolk.
Regards Graham.

Hi all - I am currently starting a restoration of a 1961 Pacemaker 19 myself with a friend.
Would be useful to chat with others on a similar path and share info!
This particular boat has a Penta BB70 twin carb petrol and what I believe is a Penta AQ80 outdrive, but information seems scarce on both of these items.
Has anyone identified a source of service parts for these? Distributor cap/rotor arm/points etc? It’s been suggested that the engine may share common spares with a Rootes Alpine engine from a car - does anyone have experience or knowledge of this?
Many thanks in advance,
Andy
Suffolk

Seems the ‘Pacemakers from Port Hamble’ book by Charles Lawrence is no longer available (despite being offered by Waterstones!).
I’ll keep looking, and perhaps find a secondhand copy somewhere :)
