we have a new edition to the family by way of a plymouth pilot 16ft, which we have brought for our son called toby, does anyone have any knowledge of the plymouth pilot range of boats i have seen they do a 18ft as well, its quite a solid little boat with a deep keel and round bilges, looks almost like a squashed version of my nelson, i would like to know more of what they were origonaly designed for and how many there are.

We had an old Plymouth Pilot as a harbour launch at our sailing club.
They must have bought it at least 25 years ago (second hand then) and its still going strong.
Its had two major refits that I know about and osmosis when the club bought it.

I've seen several about - they just seem to keep on going and going and going and going and going and going........
