Hi All
Just sold our sealine F43,wich I had two raymarine C widesceen plotters fitted , boat we are looking at has Raychart RG 620/630 plotters fitted, aprox year 1999, would these be early raymarine ,
never bothered about a cartridge as found that the pre loaded navionics was fine, does anyone no what type of electronic charts these take, and are they any good, compared with more modern plotters, realy liked the raymarine c one's found them very easy to use, or would I be better off replacing them.the raymarine one's were the first type we have used, would welcome comments good or bad,

They use the old C-Map NT cartridges. My own personal recommendation would be to replace due to their age and 12yo vintage user interface, very clunky to use. Suggest looking at Garmin. Mid sized models like the Gpsmap 750 include preloaded charts of UK, IRL, and the channel coast of France. But you may prefer large screens.

If you have the cash I would replace them with some current models. They have come a long way in the last few years with AIS, integration etc etc.

Personally I would stick with what you know. I also prefer Raymarine but have extensively used both Ray and Garmin over the last few years. Garmin is good, I just prefer Raymarine as I find it easier to use.

Thanks for the replys, thought as much, will see if can borrow a chart to try them, when got rest of boat sorted will then see if can get a deal to replace them, its all subject to the sea trial now.
many thanks again
