plotter /radio not displaying the same

A small technical question --- why does my lat/long displayed on the plotter differ marginally from that displayed on the VHF when the plotter supplies the the info to the radio ???

Are they both set to the same datum? Are they both set to display the lat / long in the same format?

Almost certainly because one is configured for decimals of minutes and the other for minutes & seconds.

yes and yes . I should pointout that it is only the seconds that differ . Degrees and minutes are ok . I know its splitting hairs but I would expect the radio to display the same as its told by the plotter .Cheers

I think alan_d has it in. One is supplying ddd.mm.ss and the other is expecting/interpreting ddd.ddddd.

What radio and what plotter?
