Plenty of Smoke Think I need a Marine Electrician

So what's the consensus for a DAILY rate?

somewhere between £150 and £300 if you follow the previous posts :)

fwiw, that sounds reasonable, when I did domestic electrical work I charged £35 and hour or £200 a day. Which I think was cheap compared to a lot of sparks round here (hampshire).

Well I, for one, don't charge by the day. I charge by the hour worked (and I mean by the hour worked, I don't charge for time not worked e.g having a smoke and a mug of coffee, chatting on the pontoon with people &c.)

But if you assume an eight hour day and split the differ 'tween the £150 figure and the £300 figure you won't be far off the mark! :D

(I'm trying very hard not to tread on the mod's corns here! Apologies if my size tens have bruised a toe)

Thanks, everyone I have now had a great offer from someone here on the forum so hopefully fingers crossed it will all get sorted as this is the last major job on a the project.

Regards

Find out what your local domestic sparkie charges. Double it for "marine"....

Last time I called out a domestic electrician (I don't have Part P so can't do work on my own kitchen or bathroom grrr) he charged me rather more than I charge and he was cheap compared to most. Not everyone in the marine trades is a rip off merchant you know!
