please help with anchor chain

They both quote DIN766 so (assuming you've got the 8mm gypsy) it should do.

Agreed the chain should be OK but if you're backing it up with rope the South Pacifics will only work with 3 strand, not 8 plait. That's what they told me when I asked them and that's the only reason I haven't bought one myself.

I've got the same windlass and multiplait works fine, I think mine is 14mm. I did experiment with 3stand and the recommended splice (back splice) and the rope swished horribly and the splice jammed. The multiplait and splice along the chain work fantastically.

I have used the supplier 'uk-yacht-rigging-and-supplies' as posted by OP for anchor chain on several occasions, suggest you ring and talk to them.. they have always been most helpful and i have always been most satisfied by there product, i have no connection just a happy customer
