Inverse law.
Seems to me that something a bit whizzy in the form of sports boat may be your thing and loads of folks here started of with a small sporty cruiser of some sort with a bit of a squeeze type accomodation up the front. However loads of folks start off with small fixer upper type boats that can be bought for a few hundreds or thousands of pounds. The small boat club which I belong to has about 30 boats in it(some well past their sink by date)none would sell for more than a few thousand most for a few hundred, but suspect their owners get just as much fun out of them as people spending hundreds of thousands.
I often wonder if the more money you have invested in the boat, the less satisfaction you get from using it.Your first proper boat, however cheap, gives the most thrills?
How about looking at the following at the budget end of the market.
Fairline Weekend or Holiday or 32 Phantom.
Princess 25
Sunseeker 25 or 28 or 31.
Princess 30D
Plus loads of others around this size.
All the above are fastish and even the most expensive of the above should cost less than 30k and will be easy to sell on when your eye wanders onto bigger better faster boats.
