Plea to save the Harwich Harbour Ferry

I notice that there is a tendency by marine insurers to avoid providing comprehensive insurance for older boats. I bought a 1966 Invicta Mark 1 and found that while I could easily get 3rd party insurance no provider would give me comprehensive.
I wonder if that may have been the case with the Harwich Ferry. Was there another thread telling us how old it was?

I don't know who you tried, but there are plenty of older boats that are fully covered. I have customers with early 60's boats (and older) that are fully comp'.

The ferry was originally a lifeboat on the liner SS Canberra, which was launched in 1960, so that gives an approximate max age.

Canberra, 'The Great White Whale', went to scrap in October 1997, so that gives an approximate minimum age. The final message from the radio room was this telex:

I heard today from a reliable source, she was under insured, had underlying issues from previous repairs, that have now come to light, how true i cant say but just the messenger.
From the label above the ferry could well be 55 > 60 years old if OME
