Play-doh!

I had a cunning idea - use some old Play-doh to hold a transom mount fishfinder transducer to get the right position...fishfinder works fine laying loose in the bottom of the boat but it would seem that Play-doh is the ultimate echo sounder insulation!

Put it in a plastic bag full of water /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

When a suitable position is found Silicone transducer in place

do not use for 24 hours

I used blue-tack to find the right place, then stuck it in place with a gob of Gosport Pound Shop's equivalent of No More Nails. It's still there and still working 2 years later.
