Located near the Mayflower Steps on the Barbican this fish restaurant is v.good.We tried it after Andrew Lloyd Webber mentioned it in a newspaer article the scallops are a must.

We've eaten here several times with mixed results.

The first time the food was excellent.

The second time, everything was greasy - table, plates, cutlery, menu and food... perhaps a deep fat fryer exploded? or the cleaning staff hadn't shown up. It was fairly offputting.

The third time we took my mother with us, she ordered crab, which was off. Very off. and even the small mouthful she tried and mostly spat out, made her very sick for a couple of days.

There is a really good Greek place opposite btw.

Funny you should say that. Last meal we had there was excelent but walked past last week and my mate said it looked grotty inside. I did'nt look so cant comment.

No one can force me to come here-----------

Last time we ate there was late last year - November I reckon. Not been down the Barbican since then so couldn't tell you if its improved/worsened...

Ate there twice in the last 4 weeks.Packed out each time so lucky to get a table.Food excellent.Perhaps they were going through a bad patch when you were there.

Cheers
