Discovered on a night passage recently that the internal compass light wasn't working. It was removed (not by me) twice to feed through wires to the panel above the hatch so the wire may have been dislodged. I can see the three plastic nuts on the cabin side but what I can't remember is whether the cowl on the other side comes off (and how) to access the heads of the plastic machine screws on the other side. I know there is a spacer that always wants to fall into the gap.

Undo the 4 nuts, this releases the bezel inside the cabin, then just push the compass out into the cockpit.

I don't think you need access to the heads of the plastic screws...

Being me, managed to lose one of the nylon flanged nuts - anyone know what size these are - M3?
I've taken a flyer and ordered some M5 nuts with integral washers
Why dont you measure the (OD) diameter of one of the screws?
in mm that's the "M" size

They are not likely to be "M fine" threads but you could also try to estimate the pitch just to be sure.
