Quite a good stainless grill top I've found over several years.
However one burner will now not produce gas or ignite since they flame controldevice can't be overidden by pushing the knob anymore.
Has anyone found a solution or replacement for this fault?

Firstly check that the interior of the burner assembly is clear and not corroded. The top can be removed after unscrewing a small grubscrew in the side with an allen key. I had a similar issue when the inside got corroded but a cleanout sorted the problem. The flame failure device in itself will not prevent gas getting through, but it it has failed it will prevent gas once ignited staying on.

Might be worth getting in touch with the manufacturer, Leisure Products, Bolton, for advice. I have found they respond well to emails or phone calls.

If spares are needed, then see this link:

Whilst I don't think will supply you directly, they will tell you where spares can be obtained.

Thanks for that. It is the small hob that will not ignite and I can't hear gas despite pressing and turning control knob.
I'm still surprised the depressed knob won't overide the flame failure device. I've ordered a new one but remain unconvinced it's the solution!
It is tedious how unrelaible these "safety devices" are. Really more trouble than they're worth imho.

It sounds like you are not depressing the knob enough to lift the gas valve off its seating. Check the nut that holds the gas valve against the fascia plate. Try removing the knob and using a pair of pliers (gently!) instead.
