Plastimo davits - anyone fitted or have them fitted?

Have recently purchased a Sun Odyssey with bespoke brackets on the transom into which are seated circular brackets to take dinghy davits.

Davits apparently left somewhere near the med when the boat was brought back a few years ago - no record of the make of davits fitted so am trying to do some detective work to establish the make and model so I can replace them like for like if possible.

So far the most likely candidates are the Plastimo 160kg davits (have a few measurements to make when i go back on-board at the weekend which could re-inforce this belief) but from what I've been able to glean from photos on t'internet they look similar. Brackets are designed to take a tube and allow for insertion of 150-200mm with a thin bar at the base of the bracket which presumably aligned with a slot in the tube prevents the tube turning - again similar to the description provided in the sales blurb from Plastimo.

Has anyone fitted these or does anyone have them fitted - if so does my description of what we have sound similar. Of course photograhic evidence will help so will take a few shots at the weekend and post then. Meantime all thoughts welcome.

I have the Plastimo type on mine. They work fine, but you need to sure up the lines a bit (or I do) to stop the tender moving about to much. (Mind you I am talking about 25kns cruising) Provided everything is tied down properly they do the job. We carry a 2.7m tender weighing about 45kgish. The OB engine however, is carried separately when the tender is mounted. You need to measure the ID of your receiving tube as these can vary as there appear to be several types on the Market.

I have two measurements - the 160kg davits use a 60mm tube and the holding bracket has an internal dimension of 64mm. Also the overall diameter of the mounting bracket including the top flange is 150mm.

We have just bought a PRI310V Plastimo rib 3.1 m long and weighing in at 51kg so I'm hoping that whatever we get will take this (would remove the outboard to reduce weight and therefore strain on transom).

I think mine are only 43mm tubse and limited to 120kg or 60kg per side. The flange is 150mm dia. Therefore your intended set up should be fine at 51kg. When you first slide the tubes in you will notice how sloppy the fit is - but as soon as wt is applied everything tightens up fine.

Sounds like the beefier Plastimo davits. We had the smaller rated ones and they are good, party because they fold away when not in use so 'technically' they don't add to the waterline. They are also easily removed to prevent theft, but then if they weren't removable you couldn't have them stolen anyway
Dinghy needed lashing fore and aft in a seaway and I didn't trust the plastic cleat on the davits. Marinescene on ebay were far and away the cheapest chandlery for them.

Hi - I will try and take some photographs of the brackets that were made to place the shoes that accompany the davits (the original davits were in fact Plastimo's 160kg version). I ended up getting a local engineering company to make me up two arms using a friend's Plastimo davits as templates. That was four years ago and we now have a Ribeye TL260 tender which fits perfectly on our stern. It weighs around 35kg and I take the outboard off before we hoist. It has made our cruising and launching and recovering our dinghy so much more enjoyable.
