Hi, some of the windows in my sprayhood are rapidly becoming opaque, and I have tried washing and polishing (and even a bit of Cif in a little test area) but nothing seems to shift the opaque film. Is there a recognised method, or a product, that will restore the clarity? If so, I'd love to hear it.

Before you resort to replacing the panels, try PlastX first.

Available from here . Its also available from lots of other places. No connection with this particular vendor.

We did the canopy windows on our old boat and although they may not have been as bad as yours seem to be, they came up looking almost like new.

Other forumites who have experienced "fogging" on the rear windows of convertible car hoods have also reported good results.

Good luck!

I hope this may give you some peace of mind, but I just had the front two windows on my Sealine S38 replaced by JB Yachts - cost £40 each (plus VAT), so replcing the windows may not be the end of the world cost wise. JB Yachts are in the Southampton area (Sarisbury Green, near Swanick Marina) to be exact.

Further, I was quoted about £1500 (plus VAT) to replace the whole canopy set (i.e. front AND rear sections). There is quite a lot of canvas and window area on the S38 and they will come down, measure up - take away old and refit the new canopies, so I didn't think cost was too bad.

JB Yachts contact details as follws:-

No connection, just really impressed with the service. I took my fromn t windows in at about 1030 on a Tuesday morning a week or so ago, and they were ready by 1430 same day.
