It was going to be Osea Island Saturday for a BBQ on the beach, anchor overnight then drift down to Brightlingsea with the tide on Sunday, then a gentle tootle back to Bradwell today, although this plan was revised to probably skip Brightlingsea in favour of a very leisurely day's chill at Osea.

Chris and Lorraine (friends known through Mr.Sabre) appeared on Saturday early afternoon, and it was fine weather, and the wine was a' flowing and the clock was ticking away, but it really didn't matter. It then transpired that Neil et al (Morgana) were on their way to Bradwell. Neil, Debs and co joined us on board. More wine a' flowed and talk turned to dinner. "Green Man" we cried. I have never been to the Green Man and been unable to get a table ..... apart from Saturday. Mick at the (Bradwell Marina) bar obliged but, well quite frankly, it then started to get a bit blurry.

Yesterday (Sunday) was rather more windy than planned and Bradwell having moved us to the end of the aisle where we were parked port side to, with a fine vessel that kicks to that same direction hadn't done us too many favours, but with long ropes and plenty help, off we eventually sped Brightlingsea bound, not however before having moved Pdream from one swing mooring to another, tied alongside Mr.T with Tanya and Oliver (my eldest) wielding boat hooks and determined looks and performing, I have to say, absolutely brilliantly in very trying conditions.

We genoa'd our way to Brighlingsea, were tied up by a most obliging messrs Sabre and Morgana and then water taxi'd our way to food. It being Sunday evening, too late for meals a' sitting, and there being many palettes to assuage, dinner turned into a combination of Chinese and Fish and Chip takeaways aboard Morgana.

It does make me smile knowing that Ben (my youngest) is, as we speak (so to speak), wearing pink nail varnish, and was becoming increasingly worried about what his mates will say at school tomorrow, just seconds before dropping off with that saitisfied "I've had a great weekend" look on is face.

With wind and tide against us, the trip back to Bradwell from Brightlingsea was never going to be great, but hopefully did quite the opposite for Morgana.

Plans ?. What Plans ?. Ben was quite right. What a great weekend.

The smaller of the Mini Morgana's was sporting Fluorescent Yellow nail varnish last night when the Morganas dropped in to inspect progress on Sirenia.
The deal, we understand, is that he has to wear it to school today /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The yellow nail varnish was mine /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif no, I'm not going to explain.

Having gone to Bradwell on my own I was umming and aarhing about going out as it was a bit "interesting" in the marina with the wind straight down the aisles and has grand cock-ups to watch but once out of the creek with wind behind is was a grand sail to B'sea and Morganas and Tinklers saved me from a quite evening on my own. Excellent.

A little refereshment in Old Leigh with the Full Circles and FlipperK on Friday evening made for a good weekend. Thanks all.

Ben has just got out of he shower and surprise surprise - the nail varnish is still there. Oh dear, what will his mates say /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

hee hee...

What a great weekend....

We'd seen the forecast, and planned on a weekend of beachs and anchoring too.... heading towards the Ore....

Tides meant a late entry into the Ore itself, so we set off for a pleasant sail, round Cork Sands the long way and planning on heading towards Rough Towers.....

Only... as we beat outside Cork Sands it was so nice that we just carried on, and found ourselves half way up the Wallet....

Well, mini Morgana, being one to plan ahead, was already in text message communication with mini CPD, and plans were being formed..... what could I say?.... so we headed to Bradwell...

Alan naturally offered a 'splash' of white wine (served in a half pint format)... and there was the evening gone...

Sunday was 'reserved'.... Tides meant a mid to late afternoon departure, and with the kids all occupied with games ashore, we took the opportunity to do absolutely nothing..... including a pleasant afternoon nap.... how brill is that?

As Roger has already pointed out, he was kidnapped Sunday afternoon, and forced to sail to Brightlingsea.... how unkind of us..... he also donated the aforementioned nail varnish from his extensive supplies of various bright and gaudy colours..... well, the two girls onboard had been forced to play footy all morning with the boys, so in return, the boys could hardly refuse could they?

A good evening in Brightlingsea, which still closes at 6:00pm....

And then a brilliant sail back up the Wallet on Monday.... in sunshine, with just enough wind to make 6kts over the ground with the tide assisting....

Just brill...... totally impromptu and thoroughly enjoyable.... with an unexpected bonus of 60nm logged
