Plans for the weekend

I'm rebuilding the port engine this weekend.

Wouldn't normally mind but the parents have just hit the carib for a month!!!!!

What exciting things are you all upto this weekend. (no christmas shopping allowed)

it would have been - it really wasn't nice - the Poole fleet seemed all over the harbour if they were out at all!

brought danbrit out from wisbech to fosdyke, hell of a job re weather , then mist finaly got boat settled on moorings and got to bed at 0630 friday morning .
Been up and down to boat every tide to make sure she takes the ground, which is happening each tide slowly the river bed is alowing her to settle in .
By wednesday I should be able to relax a little more !!.

Had the wrong piston so not a lot happened!! Been to change it this morning and they didn't have a new correct one so I have a second hand one. It has a bit of a groove on the lower side of the piston. Should I just file it off or shall I wait til the new year and get a new piston??? Wanted to go away for christmas on the boat???

Sure sign of piston slap due to worn rings and a risk that it's oval due to wear !!
also the ring grooves will have wear .
Get the right one or pay later .....

off to stornaway tomorrow for a few nights then back down via harris ,over the sea to skye home for sunday .the forcast on west coast is cracking with gin clear days cold nights and as billy connoly says thirs nae body here.

My plans for the weekend, revolve around a effing big black and decker, drilling a 16" hole to 5000 feet! Then putting a bloody big pipe inside it and cementing it in place! Apart from that I'll..............
