planning a calais crossing Aug 05

Planning to leave the boat in Calais for August, join with the car and use as a base !

We are thinking of crossing over on 30/07 or 06/08 depending on sea state coming back 20/08 or 27/08 !

I will leave from Fav but might stop in Ramsgate or Dover depending on sea state.

Any one planning to cross at the same time?

You know perfectly well that unless both banks on the river are within jumpimg distance,I get very nervous.

On a good day you can see calais as you leave Ramsgate !But anyway we will follow a ferry all the way.

Upper Thames Motor Yacht Club are departing South Dock Saturday 6th August (approx' 04.30) for Ramsgate and Sunday to Nieuwport and then up to Holland. Only about 6 boats.
I shall be leaving with 2 other quicker boats from Hampton Court at about 03.30 and going direct to Nieuwport and then up to Holland.
Sounds like a busy morning!!
