We're hope to take the plunge next year and taking Charles Reeds' advice, head for the Aegean. Our tentative plan is to go from Messolonghi up thru Evia to the Sporades and Halkadiki, come home when it's hot and then proceed down to the Dodecanese for next winter. We've done the trip up to the Sporades two years ago and have done the Saronic, so OP's could advise us on where to go (!), and what to miss ! We realise weather will be an issue. All hints and comments welcome.

In rough terms, go N on the W side and come S on the other (Turkish) side.

The northern islands (excepting Samothraki) I found the most interesting (Thassos, Limnos, Lesvos, Kos).

No hints, but we are planning very similar. Boat currently in Evia (well, nearby) and we will start moving at the beginning of May, Sporades etc, see how far we get before August when we come home, then return and head towards Turkey in the autumn. See you out there?

Quite likely ! We intend to hot foot it up thru' Evia/Sporades as we've been up there before and plan to leave Messolonghi late April/early May.
