Plan to build a cycle track in (sic) the River

Agree can't see that happening..... round here its hard enough to get cyclists to use the cycle paths let alone one that takes a longer wibbly wobbley route over water!

Cyclists are one of the fastest going groups in the country and more importantly, they spent ridiculous amounts of money on all the stuff they need to have in order to blend in.
Get them down by the river no problem at all, out the way of killer HGVs and ladies who lunch driving hideous Audi A7s and Range Rovers et al.who appear to make up the majority of people at speed awareness courses.:)
Any chance to get kids(and others) out in the fresh air and away from the addictive and malign influence of Twatter and Hatebook has got to be good.

Did you notice that on the course you attended :)

Cyclists "blend in" :D

For anyone not familiar with the area, note that there is presently a broad shared cycle/pedestrian path the other side of the river, just across Kingston bridge.
There is a pedestrian route along the bank in question, but parts of it are narrow and disjointed across the front of various pubs etc.

I do think it would be beneficial to have a dedicated cycleway on that side, but the complex curvy staging/pontoon proposal doesn't fill me with joy either as a cyclist or a boater. I'd have thought a rather more boring widening of the existing walkway, perhaps with sections cantilevered out where space is a real issue, would be more practical and probably cheaper, especially in the long run.

It would be better on the other side as they already have the punt wall/level in place . The path out would then give a better depth for boats to moor .

Being a chap and therefore incapable of breaking any laws, got this info secondhand from my good lady wife, curiously enough my daughter was able to comfirm this fact but a few short weeks later.:)
I only found out, because came home early one day and opened the post and found an invitation from the Rozzers for my wife to pop along for an hour or two at the local civic centre.
