I was all lined up to buy a MF585, but she turned out to be under powered (50HP) and couldn't get on the plane during the sea trial, so it's back to looking at options. I've tried the MBM website but they start above my budget :o , and also http://www.nauticexpo.com/... are there any other sites that allow you to compare options by various attributes (rather than spend hours trawling through the for sale sites and random Google searches)?

I'm looking for a 'speedboat' or fisher with 2 berths, can take up to 4 adults, pottering around the Solent, maybe beyond if conditions are okay, 20 knots is fine, outboard (frugal!), under 20 feet LOA if possible to minimise marina fees, build quality is important, new or newish, £15k or maybe up to £17.5k...

So far I have:

MF585 (or close variants)
Quicksilver 470 or 510 cruiser
Cap Ferret 552
Galia 530 Cruiser
Yamarin 59 Day Cruiser
Olympic 500 C
Janmor 530
Italmar Cabin 18

The Bella 560HT (and Flipper 520HT - are they related?) really caught my eye - as did some other Scandanavian boats, but are realistically over budget :( Unless someone knows of a deal! The Orkney range look good, also the Wesport Marine Pilot 4, but I want the option to rough it for a night or two.

Anyone got any horror stories with any of the above? I keep going round in circles and would really appreciate some advice from more experienced folk (I'm moving over from sail for a bit as my kids like going for a zoom from A to B - directly ;))

Agree - MF or Bene is a very good choice. We had a MF635 a few years back, well built boat and good at sea. Would sleep two (just) and could take 6 adults fishing in reasonable comfort. MF585 is a good choice imho! Maybe you could find one with a bit bigger engine.
