With the August bank holiday not too far away we are planning, weather dependant of course, to have another play out in the wash. The tide times seem to work well for us to go out of Boston on an 8 hour tide. We plan to go out have a play around then spend a few hours at anchor, before heading down to Fossdyke for a night, then doing a repeat of the same but in reverse on Monday.

So where are the best places to anchor up for a few hours?

Plenty of places, it depends which way the wind is blowing.
Clay hole is popular, but tucked up near a sandbank anywhere will be sheltered at low water.
Just S/W of Delta buoy near the end of the Freeman is good in an easterly.

The usual spot for a kings lynn entry is by the tide gauge in the bulldog channel, it can be choppy in a northerly there but ok for other directions, theres a mooring buoy there too but it's for the pilot boat, if it's too shallow for you to get in it's too shallow for them to get out...
