Pitot

Hi all

my pitot as shown on the pic is not working - any suggestions would be welcome as to what to look out for. I have blown and retracted air from the inlet section and not made any difference. I am quite happy to call it a dud and ignore it but just wondered if there are any easy fixes


oh just for interest I have treated my prop to the TK spray as recommended on here so will see how it performs

It looks very well painted. Have you painted over the hole in the front?

There is not much to go wrong its just a fancy shaped hole, its either blocked or not, blow down the tube and see if bubbles come out

Tube might be leaking or instrument frozen.

Not an accurate instrument anyway - time for an upgrade..?

Mine has never worked.. I can blow into the pipe behind the speedometer and bubbles can be seen coming out of the pick-up but it doesn't show the speed.. Usually just use my phone with a speedometer app if I want to know my speed..

I've just done mine before I found out (& launched :ambivalence:|). Maybe jfm was lucky.

ah well it was never treated before with no problems so anything is a bonus. Thanks for replies re pitot its not blocked but as Spi D said maybe time for an upgrade and like Wipeout, I can use GPS systems on board .I just wondered that's all.
