Ok... So Ianqv kicked us all into action, we've debated endlessly, we (I!) put up a poll with dates that made no sense, had another go, and we ended up with no clear winner!

However, three factors have driven a decision... Firstly I had a pm about another group planning on Stone point for one of the dates, secondly a bit of checking uncovered that many could do both, and last but not least, I felt hugely guilty that Ianqv kicked all this off, and then we looked like we were about to pick the one date he couldn't make!!!

So......

Its the 4th August.

We've got to pick a date eventually, and you can't please everyone... But this seems the most practical option.

Get it in your diaries!

For those not familiar with the format, here's a quick heads up....

Gather on Saturday in the anchorage at Stone Point, and convene on the beach early evening...

There are only 2 requirements for attending...

1] Bring along a bit of firewood

2] Dress as a pirate!

Most will also bring along a BBQ and a little liquid lubrication in support!

If the weather is good, expect around 100 or so people to be on the beach. We try to make the evening really kid friendly, and usually there will be an 'event' to entertain them... We may even see the return of the famous 'Magna Carter' treasure map, along with buried treasure!!!

This is without any doubt, our favourite weekend of the year.

Arrrrgh me hearties!

Ah well... Wouldn't want to spoil my reputation through the triffling matter of accuracy!!!!

My head is just full of boat parts at the moment... Lift out planned, lots of bits in boxes ready to be fitted, and my varnishing arm all warmed up and ready to go!

Bring back the treasure map! Our nipper loved it. Must remember this year that we only have one hull, no speed raming the beach as an alternative to anchoring :D Hope the weather is better this year

Excellent! Count us in!

Talisman with two big and one little pirate!

Forgot to say............ many thanks to Pheonix of Hamble for your help.... and for choosing the 4th!! :)

I will start (yet) another pirate thread listing all the runners and riders for the day.

In true East coast tradition.... please add your name and boat name :)

Shivver me timbers!!

You mean to say you ventured out in that monsoon last year!!!!
Well done you!!

We still dressed as pirates... but just stayed at home (I promise I'm not joking!! lol).

I want to try and get to this. What time are people arriving? I'll have another crew member and two small pirates on board.

Some get there Friday evening, most arrive during the day on Saturday. Look out for the Pirate flags, you can't go far wrong
