Brilliant. Thank you everyone we had a super day and it was a fine end to our summer holiday.

Thank you to the sadly directionally impaired Lazy Kipper for inspiring this rescheduled event. Thanks also to the crew of Full Circle for acting as stand in flagship.

Nice to meet ZippySigma Tim with Helen, Nathalie and Martin, PyroJames at last along with mini pirates and also Abbi although she spoilt it by bringing that photo guy along as well tee hee.

We had great time, the kids really enjoyed it and SWMBO is also in a good mood. Sorry we didn't take up the nightcap invitation Jim and Lynn but wanted to get the boys orf to bed.

See you all again soon

Cheers

Neil

Hi from Oostende.
Arrived at 03:00 after leaving Shotley at 11:30.
A rolly trip with upto 24 knots of wind on the beam and quarter.
Now in Mercator as Robert has the Dragon Would Championship in his pond.
Hope you all managed to stay dry.
We had a couple of squllls on Sunday afternoon.

Roberts Favorite sailors
i wondered what all those trailers were on the beach

Home after a good weekend. Lack of fuel meant a good deal of sailing, including off the anchor in Hamford Water, scraping over Harwich Shelf and short tacking past the COSCO fleet.

Great to meet up with other mini pirates, E was particularly taken. M was asleep within 60 seconds of hitting his bunk!

Dismasted.

Whilst everyone was enjoying themselves we were planning to pass by the pirate gathering on Saturday on our way to the Orwell in convoy with Sirius until, through an act of rubbish seamanship on my part, I managed to dismast moondancer by catching the shrouds on Sirius's (a 65 footer) pushpit as we separated from being rafted up on the crouch.

It is amazing how quickly a mast snaps if the shrouds are used to stop a boat.

Ooh, sorry to hear that Brian. I have been on board Moondancer when you decided to shred a kite, I thought that was quite an expensive day out.

Actually the spinnaker was probably more expensive than the mast.

It was very stupid. We were rafted up just below the Roach on the Crouch. My boat was down current and downwind. I thought we would naturally stream away and just popped her into gear with two crew pushing off when the bigger boat must have swung slightly moving the wind across our nose so we were pushed onto her pushpit, which was at about cross tree height.

I should have sprung us completely away before letting go.

Bit of a downer, she is coming out on Thursday and getting a quote for a z spars mast which looks to be near identical in profile and fittings.

Thanks Guys!

Abi peaked early, but we had a great time! In fact, I think that was one of the best evenings we have had boaty wise ever!

Real pleasure meeting everyone, and put a great finish onto our first season on the east coast.

Went back to Shotley yesterday and had a good little sail.... nice when its all off the wind and not up the wallett....

Cheers everyone for a great time..... made my summer to see Abi having a good time after the last couple of years!
