Pirate Weekend

So, just to get this right...

1) Pirate weekend is the 16th from lunch ish onwards...
2) Bring some firewood..
3) Bring something to eat on the beach... and consumables
4) Dress like a pirate...
5) There may be camping on the beach for some....

Some silly questions;

1) Is there a designated wee-wee spot for little pirates with week bladders?
2) errr anything else I have missed?

you will need a yacht & dinghy + sufficient cable & suitable anchor for the East Coast
you will NOT need a large colonial flag

We will be sufficiently armed to deal with anyone who objects to our choice of dress...

And I reserve the right to act pre-emptively against known troublemakers.

Pirates

Hi All,

Thanks for the info re the BBQ's

The good ship French Connection plans to leave Bradwell at 12 midday on the Saturday, it does mean that we'll punch the tide for an hour and a bit, but we should be in Pirate paradise for around 5pm.

Any other boats leaving from Bradwell?

Ian and Sarah

Hi All,

As we are rather tight for room, does any one have a BBQ we could use on the day? A bottle of wine as a thank you to whoever can help, and we can bring a couple of bags of charcoal.

Many thanks

Ian and Sarah

Hiya Ian

we have a gas BBQ that you can share with us, we can either do it on the bathing platform or take it to the beach, just need a regulator for the bottle.

I bought a little fold up thingy from Asda for £8 last year and we also took a disposable. In the end, we used someone else's and then later on, someone else used ours ! (at least, that's the way I remember it :o )

Also..... i'm still hoping to produce 'treasure maps' for the little ones... so may also ask people to bring a few sweets etc to stick in a treasure chest for the mini pirates to recover!
What time are you planning to 'bury' the treasure. I'd like to bring along some stuff to go in it, but won't be there till 2pm onward I should think...

Add us to the festivities please:

1 very excited 6yr old pirate.
3 even more excited significantly older soaks.

We will be punching around from Brighlingsea hopefully in time for the treasure burying.

It is going to be rather crowded in the anchoage with all these boats coming.
Could I suggest that the smaller boats be allowed to raft up on the larger boats, as long as the skipper of the larger boat is happy with the hold of his anchor.

Might be a good idea... A quick tot up suggests 26 boats at present... Anchorage directly off the beach is good for about that amount, but others will be there... Still plenty of other options though.. Lots of moorings up the creek and only 5 mins in a tender from Hamford water which can hold a further 60 boats at least... So sure we'll be OK

Is that five mins by motor, or rowing?! If we end up up the river, please can we request a tow or a lift? (not outboard, muscle power only:rolleyes:)
