Just a reminder that while we are having these warm balmy summer evenings, and you are all busy taking apart old sheds, replacing fence panels, building dog houses, or whatever wood related activities consume your time....

....not to forget to keep some old wood for the Pirate weekend on 4th July!

Coincidentally I was also going to suggest asking for an update on who is going to be there, and what armament they may have aboard possibly. Up to you though, oh, and a reminder about the treasure chest contents about now would give people time to find stuff to fill it. It's all ready to go now

Its on the calendar .. Will look out for firewood .. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif .. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif .. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ps.. What do we need for the Treasure Chest .. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

PPs .. Is it an alcohol free event .. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif .. or NOT .. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Treasure chest is full size so the more stuff to fill it the better, idea from Mr & Mrs Morgana was to fill it with stuff for the kids so they can follow a treasure map and dig it up, finding it full of goodies they might like. If anyone wants to add some alcohol to the contents the adults might want to take part too, but definately not an alcohol free event /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Girls still have stuff on Saturdays until the school hols so don't think we can be there... hang on a sec though - high tide late evening? may be a dash up and a quick sprint down the river - we could be there around 7 ish...

Chellers is out of the water at the moment and appears to have a problem with the rudder pintle (whatever one of those is, James seems to know!). James is currently in Alderney, having sailed there on Tante Helena (our previous boat) and will be away another week and a half. Whether we have time to do the rudder repair, scrubbing, antifouling and get her relaunched before the pirate weekend we don't know, but will make sure we are there by dinghy if not!

Wood pile awaiting loading to foredeck,

Brandy barrel in preparation, other consumables ready.

Secret weapon under construction

Flags in flag locker

Please, no more towing dinghies up the Wallet in a F6.

Bunch of adults using kids as a feable excuse for a get together on the beach, all having a good time and drinking/eating whatever they bring along so no expensive pub meal to worry about, and lots for kids to do before the bonfire is lit. Last year we had the benefit of the indestructible SlowBoat playing his musical instruments too, so a bit of a sing song after dark. Great time had by all, think ging gang goolie goolie and you're not far short /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

sums it up nicely.......

Couple of things to add...... its perhaps worth thinking about water based armaments if the weather is hot...... and 'a little something to put in the treasure chest' is along the lines of a bag of sweets etc.... for the kids to dig up....

PS.... kids are optional, not compulsory!

Further details ref timing etc nearer the date, but its pretty loose in its organisation... people/boats will arrive throughout the day, and the fire will be lit as it starts to get dark...... eat when you want, start and stop drinking when you want.... go ashore & go afloat when you want.... you get the idea!
