Pin sized hole in steel outboard fuel tank - seagull!

People blow themselves up every year by doing the above. Some die.

I wanted to have the drain spigot removed from a Herald tank I fitted when I replaced the car. Even though the tank had by that stage been empty to my certain knowledge for five years, and was probably brand new and unused, no welder would touch it. Petrol in the seams is the problem, they say. Weld -> heat -> evaporate -> mix -> ignite -> kaboom.
