A great sight this morning with five pilot cutters and one schooner anchored in Barry outer harbour.
At 9 O'clock they crossed the starting line for the Barry Yacht Club Bristol Channel race
and the prize burgee " Cock Of the Bristol Channel" .
The race this year is down to the Horseshoe buoy then across to the West Scarweather, finishing at Barry.
The winning boat will be awarded the Lundy Challenge Cup which is engraved with the winners going back to 1936, they will also be presented with a 36" fly club burgee embroided with a colourful golden cockrel which they will be entitled to fly this year.

is that first one the Joanna Lucretta? The white cutter was in Gloucester the other week.

pilot cutters

You are correct, but I think she is a Schooner. One of the other boats is the new cutter
Edith Grey which came in second place. The Cock of the Channel was won by Mascot

yea she was sat in Gloucester docks for two years and then somebody realised they had been left it in a will and did something about it and then it got revamped this year.
