Pillar Drill Problem

AC induction motors come in a variety of versions.
Some have a start switch operated by bob weights in the end cover, some have start capacitors and maybe a switch too. Some have run capacitors, others can have start and run, 2 capacitors. You may find its the most common with just a start capacitor, a lot depends on how big the motor ia and how old.
It is highly unlikely to be a brush motor or be a modern permanent magnet motor or stepper motor on a pillar drill.

TC47, are you getting the 'problem' message with these icons ?

Yes

Ive had to reduce this one to 25% of original
Then I just copy to clipboard and past it in without messing with any of the attach files or insert image nonsense

( if anyone wants a very old lathe contact me )

That lathe looks cool. An old Myford? I may need another shed for it, but I"ve been looking for one for a while.

Thanks for the tip, I'll use it next time I need to post a photo.
