Thanks. All very nice. But the picture of the tug "Ibex" with the Oppies in the background particularly made me smile.

Not sure if it was because it was Hamble week, but there were hundreds of oppies... and yes, watching them being towed out the river they were nearly getting swamped by the wash!

here's another pic of them all, ready to cause havoc

who,s upset you firefly ?? think you are usually moored portside too !!

Hi Steve, indeed I have moved 3 up! No one upset us... although it is a bit quieter as people are not walking past the length of the boat as they were where we used to be and being just a little further away from the car park. But the actual reason to be honest was too many incidents berthing. Coming down the run of pontoons and then berthing port hand too meant inertia would take the stern out a bit wide. Being right at the end there was no room then to do much about it. Our Hardy's prop walk is off to starboard in reverse so the situation only ever got worse... realised that enough was enough and moved and we are really please with the move, so much easier and gives us a different outlook!

What time did you take that first photo? I went out Saturday morning and passed Ibex and in your first picture it looks like it could be my boat on the outside of that yacht heading past Warsash

The boat used to be kept in Swanwick but I now keep her up at a friends yard which is the other side of Bursledon bridge (chandlery Barge) just up from VP's boat

Funny you say that about the boats size as it also feels bigger than a 42 footer, maybe it is bigger!!

Were you over at the Folly on Sat night?

its probably the water making it grow... :D

I needs to go and have a look at Chandlery Barge...especially if MDL put up their rates again next year for my little boat near on £5k is just a bit steep IMO... although I believe they don't get many vacancies.. & no we were not at he Folly Saturday night...

AND people wonder why i keep mine at home and trailer sail !!!!!!!!!...........

I don't think anyone wonders why Steve, we all know the reason and you are the most sensible amoung us... trouble is my little tug is over 4 tonnes dry weight... & more like 6 by the time the fun box is full :D:D

if you towed it empty and put air brakes on the trailer and a disco or rangie (there is a special kit available) you could join me !!!!!!!............yes really !!!.................i am down on 23.7.11 for a few days, if you want to know more come over.........titter titter ..

Best not dangle anything in the water then........

I keep my boat up there because of the people who are there and the people who own the place, they are very friendly indeed, nothing is too much trouble, and yes it is cheaper! Give em a try.

Steve they also have a slip!
