Pictures from past forum meets

I thought I had more, but these to start off with are from November 2014 when we met at Swanwick. Roy (SpottyDog5) took us over to East Cowes in his rib. Kawasaki and Searush made the journey down from North Wales and stayed in a campervan in the Swanick carpark.

No pics Col, but I’ll start with a tale.

Some years ago my wife and I parted. Non acrimonious, but my first weekend alone I thought I’d rather be alone on the boat than be alone in the house.

I drove to the boat to contemplate a weekend on my own. I wasn’t used to it.

ogaryo rang out of the blue. All flustered. “Hi Roy it’s me mate. My boats broken, I’m not going to make it over”

“Errr hi Gary it’s mark not Roy. My boat isn’t broken. Do you want a lift to Cowes”

“Yeah that’s great. Just got to see Murcury man in the pub.”

I went to the pub and saw Tom. Then bumped into some more friends who said “we’re off to cowes want to come”. Friends are like busses it seems.

So I agreed to take Gary, via a pub in cowes, to east cowes and see spottydog arrive on his new hattaras.

A great night was had, on Roy’s new boat and in the lifeboat. Met Tim griffin and 15 or so others I don’t even recall now. I think Z1ppy was involved but it’s all blending into 1. Ended up staying the night and being a ferry the next day.

In summary, a weekend I thought I’d be alone I spent with 20 or so friends in the end.

Thanks to boats and the forum I knew I’d be ok. ����

I thought I had these stored but I just found them on an old thread.
Some of the faces are unfamiliar to me, perhaps someone put a face to the name?

Lovely story Mark, thanks for sharing.
It's easy to mock internet internet forums as being somewhat false, but there are genuine friends to be made and it's quite easy :)

Great pictures, thanks for sharing.
You have made me think about how good the "Beer n natter" evenings were.
I am going to upgrading my "probably" going to the next meet to "yep I will make every to effort to attend "
Looking forward to meeting some new and old friends.
 
Cheers Roy. It was my hope when posting some pictures that others would be encouraged to attend. I've got a few more I'll post up later, but please, if anyone else can find any lurking it'd be great to see them.
 
Somewhere in the dark recesses of my computer there are some photos from waaaay back.... of the meet at the Chinese in Wardour street post LIBS and of the follow on at tcm's flat.
I remember PauleneB, PeteM and jimi being there but my memory becomes a little hazy.
Will try to find them
