We went round to Sandown Bay last Saturday, and spotted this rather strange looking cloud formation. What could possibly have caused it?

Hmmm, this is looking suspicious. Why are all those planes flying so close together, and errm, they appear to be heading this way!

Quick, duck!

We could smell the fumes as they went overhead.

Up, up, and away.

A final flypast.

Then, just as they had finished, Argonautical turned up! (Nice timing, Jason /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif). Being as the anchorage was now getting crowded (3 boats) and bouncy, we headed back to East Head for tea. Fab day out, though.

Some great photos!

We were anchored near Thorney Island - saw the smoke, but was too late to head over there. Completely forget they were on last weekend. We were in prime spot last year for the same event though:

Very impressed with photo quality. What camera do you have?

Wild guess:

Camera: Canon EOS 350D
Lens: 85 mm
Exposure: Auto exposure, Not Defined, 1/800 sec, f/5.6, ISO 100

Yup, a not very up-to-date Canon 350D with an EF-S 17-85 IS USM Lens.
Would prefer a 50D, but I think Santa might well pass that one by.

The lens did a reasonable job, especially as it was quite rocky on the boat, and the planes weren't pausing for anyone.
