Left Hamble Saturday after a fuel fill.. apparently most of the Solent then ran out of diesel... heading to Chichester

Tied up in Sparks for the night;

Sunday headed out of Sparks

aimed for East Head, dropped the hook and friends came alongside

Left East Head and went up to Chi marina for the night, got out early before the rush in the morning and headed for Yarmouth... plugging the tide the whole way

Past Osborne bay

kept close in to the island to try and minimise tide effect, but regretted not heading over to the mainland straight from Cowes for least tide effect.. never mind..

a few hours later... we arrive in Yarmouth, walk to the old Mill

Then on Tuesday afternoon headed back to Hamble where we passed this..

if only our 2 week holiday earlier in the month had been this weather...

Ben, Summer cruise a washout.. 2 weeks at the start of august if you recall was crap, got to Poole and then was stuck..

I saw Evenstar arrive and thought I knew it and had seen it before... you seems to have a bit of trouble setting your anchor? Your boat makes a nice sound though, 63p's?

Ah, I was in Spain. weather was fab!

In the 15 years I have Playtime, I only had a 50% success rate for getting west, stuck in Yarmouth (good thing) or Weymouth (not so good) for days waiting.

Well I had 2 goes - it set OK but I misjudged and ended up too close to someone.. When I make trouble for myself I get it wrong far more than once

you just need more time and flexibility to when you go, in two years I will have plenty of that...

Or, you take the boat single handed, Mrs Firefly and Junior Firefly take the car. Then you can go off and explore the west country a bit. We never did it, but we did hire cars down there.
