Pics from our summer cruise 2013

Terry, Andy and others: if you ever feel adventurous, chuck the boat onto a ship in Harwich on a Monday and you'll have it in Turku by Friday afternoon.

and Dover/Kiel Canal is just 360 miles.

I would not change the Scandinavian Summer for anything in the Med. Some Med Marinas cost as much per night as you will pay for a whole week in Scandinavia - OK not all, but some, but in the Archipelago you would normally make fast at the rocks anyway, with no fee payable.
The Seatemp may be just 20, and the airtemp seldom above 30 but daylight for 20 hours.
You will find the danish southsea as interesting as the archipelago of West- or East Swden and Finland. and possible to reach total different cruising areas within a day.

Stunning post with wonderful photos. I just love the scenery and look of your cruising area.

Great to read really interesting posts like this mid winter. We will have to try a charter holiday in your home waters Scubaman. Thank for taking the time to put this story together.

Fantastic pics as always, many thanks K.
One curiosity: judging by the pics, most dock seem non-floating, if I'm not mistaken.
Is the water level always stable enough to not need floating docks, around there?

Oceanfroggie and others; if you have a week to spare, you could do a lot worse than try out some of the nordic cruising. If any of you ever decide to come up here, I can help with the arrangements, etc. if needed.

P, almost all the docks in the pics are floating. Many are quite substantial, made to withstand the powers of the ice in the winter and especially in spring when the vast floes start to move. Water levels vary maybe a meter during the year so reasonably stable.

Yep, it's connected to the fixed structure by a wide stainless steel walkway to allow for the variations in water levels.

Edit: to be precise, it's not actually stainless but galvanized.
