Picchiotti yard

Confronting to know this lot made my old tub
Well, awesome as they are in many respects, I don't think there's actually so much of the true Picchiotti heritage left, in the current Perini MoBos.
To some extent, I'd be more interested to see some pics of your "old tub".
Either memory fails me, or you never told us about her...?
I wouldn't be surprised if the first is true, though! :)

R U joking? If anyone would be bored by the pics of such fine vessel, for what other reason should he/she be browsing a MoBo forum?

I for one would be particularly interested to see more of that round chines hull.
I suppose she must be very comfortable at fast(ish) cruising speed, say 15 knots or so, but what about displacement speed?
Doesn't she roll a lot, with no stabilizers?

Congratulations anyway, a proper boat built by a proper yard, surely!

Well you asked for it......
She is very planted doesn't seem to roll at any speed, you are right, she cruises very happy at 15-18 knots, has topped out at 27 knots, with a large rooster tail :)

Hi Andy, shame I missed you. Yes I have spoken Dustywings, he said the engines only had 600hrs on them, went straight into his Sunseeker, not sure why they were swopped out, other than I know the previous (but one) owner liked to blast across the channel at a quite a lick, perhaps 300 horses was not enough for his need for speed, she is quite a heavily built old girl.

Yup, me too, I'm always interested in seeing pics of unusual boats. Btw, we used to admire a fine Picchiotti Tigress moored in Yarmouth for many years. Is that yours?

I dont think it was this one, the first owner bought her 1983 from the importer/dealer -Yacht Partners International based in Shoreham, she was kept at Bembridge all her life, until sold a couple of years back when she was moved up to Brundall. I bought her back home to the Isle of Wight.

very nice indeed !!!

what's the pupose of that add-on wooden strip above the water line, all along the hull,

is it for widening the spray rail,
rubbing strip,
or just for esthetics ?

very vulnerable and exposed in that position, not ?
