Pic from my hols ...

I'm based in Brighton Marina. Do let me know if you need any crew. I've also got a book with a lot of interesting and unusual knots.

Re: Correct for tying up naked people

True but the ropework looks very poor. Presumably this was the point of the post? Round turns and two half hitches, with tails of at least 6x rope diameter around the limbs, tied back to cleats (NOT to fender baskets as in the pic) would be much more secure, imho.

Re: Correct for tying up naked people

You are very observant TCM. Didn't even see any of those things.

How do you get on with the weather forecasts on TV. All I can normally remember is the hair colour, the neckline, various shapes and bulges, etc, etc... except the shoes, they are of the screen. "Oh hell, missed the map again!" "Was it rain she said?"

Could be a snatch problem...

The way the ropes are made off there is no slack for the ineviable ups and downs with tide and current, surely it would have been better to run a couple of springs from ankle so somewhere around head height which would keep everything secure but allow for all necessary movement.

Thereby no snatching.........

Re: Could be a snatch problem...

You're right - I think the ropes should have some slack just in case it's a rough hard ride. And as usual, you should always be careful if the deck starts to get wet and slippery

Re: Could be a snatch problem...

This is the type of technical know-how based on experience that makes me such an enthusiatic member of this forum :-)

Re: Could be a snatch problem...

Unless you get the technicalities right, the cruising may not be as fulfilling and comfortable as you may be expecting.
