I am getting frustrated at this web site after putting a message on It is impossible to sroll down to put a photo on with attachments because the advertisments for yachts take up part of the top of the page I have asked the moderator about this several times but they never give an answer

Not sure how you are attempting to add photos as attachments. I use the "Insert image* tool on the tool bar. It is very simple and straightforward.

Click that and a little box opens with a couple of tabs offering you the choice of uploading an image from a URL or from your own computer. Select which you want to do and follow your nose from there, either pasting in an image URL or selecting and uploading an image from your own computer.

I used to use Photobucket until they decided everyone should pay them shed loads of gold bars to do so.

Not settled on an alternative to Photobucket yet although I do sometimes use Tiny pic but mostly for pictures previously stored on P'bucket.

I think most of us who post photos use an external hosting service like Dropbox or whatever.

They're free to use and much easier that the daft in-house system.

I can't see "insert image" anywhere.

Its one of the Icons on the tool bar above the text entry box ... the one with a picture of a tree on it

insert image icon.jpg

If you dont see this tool bar go into settings/ general settings and select the "standard editor" instead of the "basic editor"

It's free for the first 2GB of storage space .... but that's a lot of photos. :)

Can't you just go to Programs / Uninstall if you've installed the local client? Having said that, you don't need to install the client but can just access it over the web I believe.

The big thing about Dropbox is it just looks like another windows folder and if you have installed the software onto your laptop/tablet you don't use any further space as the files are held in the dropbox cloud you can just "sinc" any folder you want on the dropbox software which usually appears as an icon in the toolbar.

You need to edit the link with
after and change the "dl=0" to "raw=1"

Richard

Thanks. I added the IMG tags by using "insert image" but did not know that you had to edit the URL as well. Photobucket used ti give you a link that could be pasted straight in. TinyPic does the same.

Ive editted the picture link of me to more photogenic angle .......... I fell in the drink shortly after this pic was taken!
