Photo size

I want to add some photos to a post. The ones I've got were taken on my phone and were rejected by the forum as too big. I'm aware that I can use free soft ware to reduce them . What size do they need to be?

I download them, then open them with Preview which allows you to adjust the size very simply.

However, mine is a Mac and you may not be so fortunate.

800 x 600 is fine.

Look at the Print Size as well, about 12x12 cm as a max is ok if you're not using thumbnail.

I take photos with a Pentax K10D 10.2 megapixel and reduce them to a size that is acceptable to YBW using

That utility gives you the choice of size.

In Win10 open the pic in Photos. Click on the 3 small dots top rh corner, to get a menu which includes resize. I take it down to about 2mps size which seems to work here without loss of IQ.

I resize so the max dimension is 1200 pixels.

I find 1000 pixels on the longest side never has any loading problems and they are still very crisp to view as an insert.

I am not sure if I would want to be 41 again, but Concerto is definitely in her prime. If you have not seen the short video I made of her at the Southampton Boat Show last month, then take a peak at the interior as well as the exterior.
