Frustrating time trying to replace my trusty Philips GPS.

The unit is great, talks happily to the new VHF and the trusty Yeoman but the cockpit repeater display has died.

I have tried replacing the display with a NASA GPS repeater - but it will not listen to my Philips GPS.

So, anyone got and old Philips GPS repeater that is lying somewhere looking for a new lease of life?

Very prepared to pay for the unit and would appreciate it very much.

Or anyone explain how I get the NASA unit to work?

Gwylan,

When I first connected my NASA Repeater to my Garmin GPS I also had no display.

The solution for me was to go into the GPS setup and change the interface settings (NMEA, baud, etc). Due to lack of knowledge I made rather random changes until the GPS output appeared on the repeater screen.

You may have a similar mismatch of interface settings. Your GPS is set up for a Philips repeater and the settings may need changing to match the NASA repeater.

I'm sorry I can't be more precise but I hope this helps.

Someone more knowledgeable will probably be along soon with more precise information.

Regards
