Phantom 48 anyone got any info?

We're thinking about going on Fri 28 Nov.
Sorry for being yet again o/t, but I guess you will see, among other stuff, the new Ducati Scrambler.
If so, give her a big hug on my behalf. I used to ride the original one, in the good old days.... :)

Indeed - in fact I think the Scrambler was also at Intermot last month. (It is ironic that Ducati launched their new models at a German show, whereas BMW have held back the bike I am interested in for an Italian show...)

Wonky, as you've given me permission to stray massively OT... :D

Here you go MapisM, just for you:

It has a trick retro-style headlight with embedded led drl:

This is actually what I went to see - this is BMW's answer to the Ducati Multistrada. This BMW S1000XR produces 160bhp, which is 10bhp more than the Multistrada:

There was obviously loads of other things to see, it's a massive show (and was very busy). This was definitely worth a look:

This is a green runner electric balancing cycle, it'll do 18km/h apparently, and you can just pick it up and take it with you when you arrive. Clever stuff.

Thanks Jimmy, I didn't know about the S1000XR. That looks to be a seriously fun piece of kit. Are you interested? The Scrambler is simply gorgeous. Love it

Wow, I'm flattered, thanks for your thought.
Though I must say that it's kinda disappointing to see that they didn't bring to the exhibition a yellow one, which is THE Scrambler original colour - see below.
With apologies for posting a pic which I found on the web, rather than one of my own bike, but back in the 70s we had no digital pics... :)
Btw, it's a shame (well, not really, but you see what I mean...) that I'm still onboard in Sardinia.
I would have loved to come to EICMA if I were at home, and have a beer together while talking of two wheels rather than props, for a change... :D

Yep, I like the idea of the S1000XR, but I'm not going to pre-order this time, I want to wait for a test ride first. The S1000R with which it shares an engine is great fun, but has a huge turning circle which nearly caught me out at the end of my test ride. I read that the XR has a completely new frame, so I want to see if they've sorted this or not before deciding whether to buy one.

The Scrambler is lovely - but it is also tiny. No good for a standard-sized GSA rider... :D

Funnily enough the various Scramblers on display were all shown in shipping containers - which _were_ yellow. No pics of the stand, sorry.

Maybe next time for a meet-up at Eicma - it's a fun show, and I'm sure I'll be back again in the future.
