petter lister twin

A fuel related question. My recently obtained AC2w Mini twin runs well but I have an irritating fuel leak at the back of the engine. There is a metal fuel line that runs from the front, down the side and is attached with a bango bolt on what looks like an injector at the back just above the gearbox. From this bolt is a short nozzle with a flexible hose attached which is connected to the fuel tank, as a return? On all the AC2W's I have seen on you tube etc there is no fuel line back to the tank from this 'injector' so why would anyone put one on there and can I remove it to stop the leak as try as I might I cannot prevent fuel from leaking from this nozzle/tube.

Can you, put up a photo? It does sound like a return line to the tank from the injectors. On some installations the return goes back to the primary filter, not the tank.

an almost 5 yr old thread
why not start anew

It definitely is a return pipe to the tank but in other installations I have seen there is no pipe flexible or metal going back to the tank or filter. It appears as though the return pipe runs from the front down the side and then ends at the banjo which suggests it re enters the engine at the rear via what the manual says is the 'injector fly wheel end' as if the excess fuel is just recirculating back to the injectors. Does this happen on some diesels? Tried to upload photo but failed. I can e mail a photo though.
